YES, insurance services fall under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. If an insurance
company, agent, or broker engages in unfair trade practices, misrepresentation, or
deficiency in service, the policyholder can seek redressal.
Insurance as a "Service" Under Consumer Protection Act, 2019
Section 2(42) "Service" includes banking, financing, insurance, and similar
services.
Section 2(11) "Deficiency in Service": If an insurer fails to provide promised
benefits, the consumer can file a complaint.
